This is the second year in a row that I have read the One Year Bible. This one is written in chronological order, and I much prefer reading it this way. It helps the reader put events in the correct perspective, particularly when certain books of the Bible repeat events. The other version I read was set up with a part of the Old Testament, part of the New Testament, a Psalm, and a Proverb to read each day. I like that because you get a variety each day, but I prefer to read it chronologically to This is the second year in a row that I have read the One Year Bible. Given the fact that the Bible, the Word of God, is not written in chronological order this is a great read for those who wonder what the actual timing is on the Word of God. I would say the only negative thing about reading the Bible this way is when the different books speak of the same event. Then you get two to three accounts of the same piece of history. Which is a good thing from an apologist standpoint but can be quite repetitive.May 15, 2019
This was my first time to read through the Bible chronologically rather than book by book, and it was a beautiful experience. Now what can I do? Begin it again!Dec 01, 2014
Using an app on my phone worked great for me as a tool for reading the Bible in a year. While I'm glad I finished, and it was a good experience to do once, I don't think I will ever try to read it that quickly again. The OT is huge and I found myself getting overwhelmed with how often the Israelites got in trouble. The Lord is a holy God, and I'm so thankful He is also all loving and that Jesus took the wrath for my sins. My next time through the Bible will be at a much slower pace, with Using an app on my phone worked great for me as a tool for reading the Bible in a year. This is my favorite book of all time! The NLT version is very easy to understand. I highly recommend this!!Dec 26, 2015
I enjoyed reading thru the bible in chronological order in an easy to read version. Of course the book had a fantastic ending but that was not a surprise. Now to figure out what to read in 2016!Dec 30, 2015
Another year, another time through this NLT companion. God is good.Jun 04, 2015
I love this Bible! I actually purchased it by mistake but it wasn't a mistake because I look forward to reading it every day. Some days I even read ahead because I want to finish a particular lesson or story.Jul 01, 2016
I loved reading this everyday. If you have never read the bible all the way through before this is great. Also reading the bible chronologically was an awesome experience and helped make sense of how everything fits together.Jan 08, 2016
Reading the Bible in one year is a powerful experience, and reading it chronologically adds new dimension & depth of understanding to the scriptures. The large print is easy on the eyes & there's enough room for highlighting & notes! I loved this & will read it again in the future!Dec 31, 2016
I found this to be an interesting and easy way to read through the entire Bible in one year. I especially liked how it was ordered chronologically, so that same events recorded by different people were grouped together for a synonymous reading.Mar 08, 2015
A great idea! It reads like a book start at the start and keep going until the end. Each days readings are together so you don't have to flip through it to find the particular section you are reading. Even though it is dated from 1st January, don't let that put you off starting it at anytime, the most important thing is that you start reading the Bible.Feb 26, 2019
My goal is to listen to the entire Bible by the end of 2019. I have never read a chronological Bible before! I think this should be a great way to do it. I am getting a late start (February, 2019), but I know listening to it will help me a lot. I will try to not listen to too much at one time without breaks because I think that might be overwhelming. The Bible is powerful and heavy.Jan 20, 2020
Loved this format! I was able to read through the Bible for the first time reading this version.Mar 22, 2018

Not a big fan of the translation. I did like reading in chronological order, it made it easier to follow.Jun 04, 2019
Love this Bible! Going through it in chronological order puts a new perspective on it! Very refreshing! I loved listening to the audio version on my long commute. And the narrator did a great job!Dec 29, 2019
I love reading the chronological order. Having it already set up that way is a true blessing.Dec 31, 2019

I love reading Gods word, but reading it in order isnt something that Id recommend. It was interesting to keep events in order, but made reading it very redundant at times. Very well narrated! This isn't a dramatized version (no sound effects or background music), but the narrator speaks like a person. I feel like finding that sweet spot along the spectrum between fully dramatized and robotic is really hard with the Bible, but this one is done very well.Jan 01, 2019
If you've ever been confused by the books of the Old Testament ("Didn't I just read about this? When did that happen?"), this one year reading plan is for you. Strictly Biblical text, there are no devotions, so if you're looking for devotional materials, you may want to supplement this one year Bible with another devotional book.Dec 27, 2019
Who can review the Bible? My review is only of the narration.Sep 03, 2017
I liked this version because it was easy to read and that enabled me to read it in a shorter period of time. It won't be my "go to" translation" though. I much preferred the ESV translation. The chronological format was sometimes a great way to dig deeper and sometimes a challenge when I couldn't stay with the current book/scripture passage.Jan 03, 2020
I wanted to see what it was like to read the bible in chronological format: spoiler alert? Not nearly as enjoyable as I was expecting it to be. hahaha It essentially means that you read the same passages back to back, frequently, and you read the Old Testament alone for what felt like 3/4 of the year. It was much more enjoyable to read at the end of the year, but by then my habit wasn't as solid because I hadn't been enjoying this format.
