This is the second year in a row that I have read the One Year Bible. This one is written in chronological order, and I much prefer reading it this way. It helps the reader put events in the correct perspective, particularly when certain books of the Bible repeat events. The other version I read was set up with a part of the Old Testament, part of the New Testament, a Psalm, and a Proverb to read each day. I like that because you get a variety each day, but I prefer to read it chronologically to This is the second year in a row that I have read the One Year Bible. Given the fact that the Bible, the Word of God, is not written in chronological order this is a great read for those who wonder what the actual timing is on the Word of God. I would say the only negative thing about reading the Bible this way is when the different books speak of the same event. Then you get two to three accounts of the same piece of history. Which is a good thing from an apologist standpoint but can be quite repetitive.

This was my first time to read through the Bible chronologically rather than book by book, and it was a beautiful experience. Now what can I do? Begin it again!

Using an app on my phone worked great for me as a tool for reading the Bible in a year. While I'm glad I finished, and it was a good experience to do once, I don't think I will ever try to read it that quickly again. The OT is huge and I found myself getting overwhelmed with how often the Israelites got in trouble. The Lord is a holy God, and I'm so thankful He is also all loving and that Jesus took the wrath for my sins. My next time through the Bible will be at a much slower pace, with Using an app on my phone worked great for me as a tool for reading the Bible in a year. About the NLT. I didn't realize it was a paraphrase when I started this. It seems to be mostly accurate. It's a light paraphrase. Still, I would not choose it again. I tried to switch in the middle of the reading plan but it kept switching me back, so I gave up. So technically I did not finish the NLT. There were several chapters that I read in other versions.

If you have not read the entire Bible, please do. It has the power to change your life like no other book ever written. ...more

I enjoyed reading thru the bible in chronological order in an easy to read version. Of course the book had a fantastic ending but that was not a surprise. Now to figure out what to read in 2016!

I love this Bible! I actually purchased it by mistake but it wasn't a mistake because I look forward to reading it every day. Some days I even read ahead because I want to finish a particular lesson or story.

I loved reading this everyday. If you have never read the bible all the way through before this is great. Also reading the bible chronologically was an awesome experience and helped make sense of how everything fits together.

Reading the Bible in one year is a powerful experience, and reading it chronologically adds new dimension & depth of understanding to the scriptures. The large print is easy on the eyes & there's enough room for highlighting & notes! I loved this & will read it again in the future!

I found this to be an interesting and easy way to read through the entire Bible in one year. I especially liked how it was ordered chronologically, so that same events recorded by different people were grouped together for a synonymous reading.

A great idea! It reads like a book start at the start and keep going until the end. Each days readings are together so you don't have to flip through it to find the particular section you are reading. Even though it is dated from 1st January, don't let that put you off starting it at anytime, the most important thing is that you start reading the Bible.

My goal is to listen to the entire Bible by the end of 2019. I have never read a chronological Bible before! I think this should be a great way to do it. I am getting a late start (February, 2019), but I know listening to it will help me a lot. I will try to not listen to too much at one time without breaks because I think that might be overwhelming. The Bible is powerful and heavy.

I am in the story of Job. I love listening to the stories in the order that they happened! It helps me remember whether the mosaic laws have been given yet, and other context clues that make the story much easier to follow.

I have heard the story of the Jewish nation up until King David's death at this point. I am listening to a lot of Psalms now. Since it is in chronological order, I am assuming these psalms were "published" after David's death. I know that not all of the Psalms were written by King David, but I am pretty sure most of them were. I will be looking in more depth at what research went in to establishing the chronological order of events. It is a great story, though. The Old Testament has such a great, cohesive story to tell, and I am hearing it for the first time because when it was all out of order, event-wise, it didn't compute for me at all.

I am in the middle of the audio Bible and, ironically, am listening to a lot of Psalms. I cannot say enough how much I have been enjoying this audio Bible. I find myself making notes and studying things I hear quite frequently in my Blue Letter Bible app. I feel like my knowledge of the Bible is greatly increasing. It is very exciting!

I am at 53% now. I think it is a possibility that I will finish the Bible by the end of a 1 year period (meaning into February of 2020, because I started listening to this book in February of 2019). I am not sure if I will push myself to meet this goal or not. Now that Bible reading/listening is a part of my daily life again, I am not sure if "finishing" is as important as I thought it was. I will continue to ponder the matter. It would be a herculean effort at this point to finish before the end of 2019, and since I am drinking deeply, I choose not to push myself to listen to too much at one time. I am definitely interested in "catching up" to where I am on schedule according to what the audiobook says. I will probably continue in that goal.

Obviously I did not reach my goal of completing the audio Bible in one year. I have now decided I don't think there is any benefit to being lined up with the dates listed. My goal is to listen to AT LEAST 5 minutes of it every day. I am thrilled with this way of having the Bible in my everyday life. I recommend this audio Bible to everyone. It has changed my relationship with the Bible in a very good way. ...more

Not a big fan of the translation. I did like reading in chronological order, it made it easier to follow.

Love this Bible! Going through it in chronological order puts a new perspective on it! Very refreshing! I loved listening to the audio version on my long commute. And the narrator did a great job!

I love reading the chronological order. Having it already set up that way is a true blessing.

I love reading Gods word, but reading it in order isnt something that Id recommend. It was interesting to keep events in order, but made reading it very redundant at times. Very well narrated! This isn't a dramatized version (no sound effects or background music), but the narrator speaks like a person. I feel like finding that sweet spot along the spectrum between fully dramatized and robotic is really hard with the Bible, but this one is done very well.

If you've ever been confused by the books of the Old Testament ("Didn't I just read about this? When did that happen?"), this one year reading plan is for you. Strictly Biblical text, there are no devotions, so if you're looking for devotional materials, you may want to supplement this one year Bible with another devotional book.

Who can review the Bible? My review is only of the narration.

I loved the narrator and his calm voice. I missed hearing the verses labeled as they were read though. If I found a verse inspiring and wanted to take note of it, I had to go to the kindle version and look it up.

I liked this version because it was easy to read and that enabled me to read it in a shorter period of time. It won't be my "go to" translation" though. I much preferred the ESV translation. The chronological format was sometimes a great way to dig deeper and sometimes a challenge when I couldn't stay with the current book/scripture passage.

I wanted to see what it was like to read the bible in chronological format: spoiler alert? Not nearly as enjoyable as I was expecting it to be. hahaha It essentially means that you read the same passages back to back, frequently, and you read the Old Testament alone for what felt like 3/4 of the year. It was much more enjoyable to read at the end of the year, but by then my habit wasn't as solid because I hadn't been enjoying this format.
