After reading a few books on cannabis, and listening to many podcasts, I've come to the conclusion that not much new material on growing cannabis is available for one's reading consumption. Being from Oklahoma where it is now legal to grow cannabis in your home if you have the proper paperwork (six plants and six seedlings), it is imperative that I read as much as I can about the topic before diving headfirst into said newfound hobby.

The experience one can gain in just six months with growing cannabis hands-on outweighs just sitting back and reading books like Cannabis Grow Bible. I have read all thousand pages of this book, increasing my knowledge as I progress down the rabbit hole of horticulture. But none of it really sticks until I actually apply what I learn to the hobby.

The pictures in the book are worth the amount of money it costs, anywhere in the 50-60 dollar range. Any new material that comes out is on the author's webpage. Not too much information is out right now about growing cannabis outside of what the original gangsters jotted down in their books (before ultimately burning them) during the cowboy days when cannabis was a crime of biblical proportions.

It was very informative when it came to growing outdoors as well as understanding a lot about the plant itself. It touches on just about everything you would want to know about growing buds and starting your own garden. This book also teaches you about creating your own strains so its good for people who already know how to grow and are looking to start breeding plants themselves.

You really don't read this book so much as look at it. The photos are stunning. Terrific reference.

The Cannabis Grow Bible: The Definitive Guide to Growing Marijuana for Recreational and Medical Use by Greg Green (Green Candy Press 2010)(635.0) is a grower's manual that's heavy on seed selection info and advice about outdoor gardening. My rating: 7/10, finished 5/9/14.

I have the second edition not the first, so things are a little different.

I was always curious :)

Good source of info. Skimmed through it. I am always fascinated by how simple things like growing a plant has so many subtleties that are missed by an untrained eye.
