As a newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetic we found this book invaluable!! I bought the larger version for my kitchen and a smaller version to keep in each of our cars for easy reference.
It has every food you could imagine, even restaurants!!
Definitely recommend this book if you are learning to count carbohydrates!!!

The best book out on the market for people with diabetes and counting your carbohydrates. Only wish they had a column for cholesterol also.

Print still not large enough- make book bigger
This is advertised as a "Larger Print” book but the print is still too small. The book is only about 5x7”. Why can’t it printed on an 8x11” so we don’t need to put on glasses to read the numbers?
I’m going to return it if I get tired of looking for my glasses when I want to look up something.

Great Carb Counter!
This book has the carb counts for any food you can think of. Very useful for a diabetic counting carbs.

Thank God for the bigger size!
Thank God for the bigger size! We were given the smaller one in the hospital after my daughters T1 diagnosis. While the book is extremely helpful, the small print on the original is hard to see sometimes. Now we can keep the big one at home for reference and the small one in our diaper bag.

I take it with me everywhere! Using it is like a treasure hunt..
I'm actually having fun using it to ascertain the carb count of my meals. And, with the help of my carb/blood sugar ratio wheel, I now take the appropriate insulin dose/meal to properly manage my blood sugar. Incidently, it's also great for making good calorie and fat choices.

Really useful in counting carbs
This book is so helpful. I am a diabetic and still learning to count carbs. Restaurant section helps me stay away from the high carb foods

NOT LARGE ENOUGH PRINT
This book and it's replacement are supposed to be "LARGER PRINT" They are both the same LARGER PRINT, but not large enough for my eyes to read! I Want to return both of these books!!! NOT HAPPY!!!

GETTING THE FACTS ON WHAT YOUR EATING
the calorie king calories book has everything in it all foods and fast foods it is really full of interesting information
and wait until you look up your first food item and see just how many calories you have be eatting
what a shock how can something so enjoyable have that many calories so if you are really trying to eat healthy you need this book

Not useful.
If you eat a lot of processed foods, this will work better for you. I mostly eat whole foods, and this book includes information that I don't use.

Best Calorie, Carb and Fat Counter I've seen yet!
This is a great book. It has almost anything you are looking for in it. It is arranged in categories so you can find things quickly. I really love the restaurant section. It helps in making the decision of what to order when dining out a lot easier. I think pretty much everyone can find something in this book useful. I might order another one just to keep one in the car for traveling. Don't just get yourself one. Get one for a family member, a neighbor or a friend. They will be able to use it too!

Not the best for carbohydrate counting
May be OK for calorie and fat counters but not carbohydrate. The layout of the book was very poor. I have had a hard time finding any of the items I was looking for.

Worse Than Useless Book.
The author desperately needs to read the book called "Why We Get Fat, And What To Do About It", by Gary Taubes. Hit Calorie King - its ALL about CARBS. Calories don't count. Read the book. 60 years of research ignored by Dieticians and Medical Doctors too busy to get an education. Without fiber values for each food listed the book is useless.

From my perspective this book places too much emphasis on prepared foods. It is not too helpful for someone who does mostly scratch cooking.
