Super helpful and I'll definitely be taking it with me. So far it seems to be the perfect size and resource for a quick trip. I'm reading the longer Paris and France guides as well because why not? However I don't intend to bring them if I don't have to.

This little book merits space in your bag, even if you're going with just a carry-on. Walking tours laid out by neighborhood, must-sees and how to find them in each museum, opening times and websites - Rick Steves is always my goal for how to travel. If he won't come with me personally, his guides are the next best thing.

My husband, Bob, and I are going to Paris for my Thanksgiving break. My husband is a chef and he studied in Paris. He absolutely loved it there and he talks about his time there a lot. I have always wanted to go with Bob and experience this city, that he fell in love with years ago. I have never been to Paris or Europe for that matter. I am so excited to go on this trip! I wanted to plan the majority of the trip before we left. I have heard wonderful things about Rick Steves' tours and books, so My husband, Bob, and I are going to Paris for my Thanksgiving break. I really enjoyed reading this travel book because I could hear Rick Steves' voice so clearly in the text. The book made me feel as if I was sitting down and having a cup of coffee with Rick Steves and he was sharing the highlights of Paris with me. The way he writes is very conversational and he can be funny at times. I have never met him, but after reading his "voice" in this book, I feel as if I know him so well. There was a lot of important information packed into this pocket travel book, but he sets it up in a very organized and easy to follow way.
Here is an example of how his humorous voice was present in the text:
"The following day plans give an idea of how much an organized, motivated, and caffeinated person can see. Trying to do too much would drive you in-Seine, so leave a few things for your next visit to Paris" (p.12). I love how he uses the play on words by saying "in-Seine." The Seine is a river in Paris and he uses this to represent insane. I think this passage could be used to show students how authors use humor and play on words to show voice and personality in writing. Books are so much more interesting when the author's voice is present.
I really enjoyed this travel book and it was very helpful in planning my vacation of a lifetime! I cannot wait to be in Paris :) ...more

This will come in handy when I am in Paris next month. I have a copy of the larger Rick Steves' book on Paris; but, do not want to lug it around on my trip. The pocket Paris is just the right size for when I am walking around the city. It has all of the necessary info, including maps, phone numbers, metro stops for various locations, and other useful tid bits.

I would've given this four stars, but a month after I got this book it started falling apart. The binding is not acceptable for a travel book that's opened again and again (and I'm not rough on my books by any means). It looks like I'll be tucking pages back inside it whilst walking through Paris' lovely gardens. Boo for inconvenience.

This is a pretty good pocket guide to Paris : good coverage of basics, and some useful tips that I had not seen in bigger guidebooks. I intend to put it to good use in our family's upcoming trip to Paris.

I used this travel guide on a recent trip to Paris. It was small enough that it fit into my travel bag so I always had it with me. Rick Steves guide books are a necessity for European travelers. I wouldn't go to Europe without one.

The map alone is worth the price of this book! We carried the easy to read map everywhere and marked it up with restaurants and stores on our to-do list . Very good trip prep but didn't use much at all once we got to Paris.

I like the more detailed Paris guide, but I love the color pictures of all the art in this one!

Good for overview and little day trips/walking tours - food tour of Rue Cler - he is pretty old school, which is nice as a complement to other research. Trust him on food, is the word on the street.

This isn't a book you read, but it is (an excellent) guidebook. Rick Steve's guidebooks are my go-to for traveling.

Super handy guide for the city. It lacks a few key points from his extended version but that's to be expected with a pocket guide.

I trust Rick Steves -- his recommendations make a trip both more interesting and more efficient. We will use many of these suggestions for our trip in November. Can't wait!

This was a fantastic guidebook of Paris. We were introduced to restaurants we would not have otherwise noticed and the basic French phrases were helpful. It didnt include good descriptions of every place, but this is the pocket version. The map is helpful, but the scale often feels off. This was a fantastic guidebook of Paris. Terrific help for my first solo trip to Paris. Worth the price for the downloadable audio tour alone. Only wish I hadn't lost it in the Louvre!
