I can't say enough good things about this book and ended up purchasing it. A recipe is included for each food discussed. LOVE the green juice. Yum :)

The book is full of recipes that some people might not find interesting due to their simplicity, but they’re truly healthy recipes for any time of the day.

The book covers fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, and wild foods. It’s bursting with recipes and also contains sections regarding health fads and trends, and some foods that can make life difficult. Each food has a section of conditions included so you can easily see which foods can help the specific conditions and ailments you’re having at that time

The only thing I wish, is that there were more fruits and vegetables explained, but he's covering the healthiest foods. Still, I learned a lot from this book even though I've read a ton of similar books.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for information on good nutrition and battling disease with food. ...more

Anthony William, along with Spirit, give hope, through diet and faith, to those that believe in the natural 'healing power' of fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, and wild foods. He dissects each group and explains their purpose, actions, and outcomes for the body. He includes tips as well as wonderful recipes(including colorful pictures) for support.
I first learned about Anthony William, medical medium, when my daughter brought another one of his books, 'Thyroid Healing' home from the Anthony William, along with Spirit, give hope, through diet and faith, to those that believe in the natural 'healing power' of fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, and wild foods. He dissects each group and explains their purpose, actions, and outcomes for the body. He includes tips as well as wonderful recipes(including colorful pictures) for support.
I first learned about Anthony William, medical medium, when my daughter brought another one of his books, 'Thyroid Healing' home from the library. You might have seen my review on that one. I gave it 5 stars as I did 'Medical Medium Life-Changing Foods'. There is so much to be taken from this author and his books. I have one more to read still and I understand he has a new one coming out this fall.
I believe anyone can benefit from his books and I wholeheartedly agree that they are 'life-changing'!/8 ...more

There is information in this book that is so important. Viruses, radiation, stress, pesticides, and toxic heavy metals are destroying our health and leading to numerous mysterious ailments and a frightening amount of autoimmune disease. There is good information here about what to do to counteract inflammation and move toward better health. Unfortunately, I have personal experience with autoimmune and my own health crisis leads me to books such as this with huge expectations and anticipation. There is information in this book that is so important. Viruses, radiation, stress, pesticides, and toxic heavy metals are destroying our health and leading to numerous mysterious ailments and a frightening amount of autoimmune disease. There is good information here about what to do to counteract inflammation and move toward better health. Unfortunately, I have personal experience with autoimmune and my own health crisis leads me to books such as this with huge expectations and anticipation. What I love about this one is everything in the beginning pages, the fact that it touts eating fruits and vegetables, and the direct approach to fear of sugar in fruit. All good.

More challenging is that he states that all the information in the book comes from Spirit. That alone would make my husband close the book (too kooky) and my mother (too Catholic). For me though, that isn’t the issue. Instead, I’m challenged with the long list of symptoms and conditions that each fruit, vegetable, spice, herb, or wild food can help. The lists are long and many, many people could probably find an applicable issue on every page. Also, there is no science behind these statements, which will trip up many people. Finally, I’m not interested in learning a spiritual lesson from my food.

During growth, a mother kiwi vine (the female find the Bears the fruit) channels the universe’s energy, depositing a snapshot of our greater surroundings and each growing kiwi.

I understand that this is the place the author is coming from, but there is a lot of this type of thank your fruit/handle your fruit as you pass the bowl/learn from your fruit’s history that I am not interested in reading. I also have no interest in sleeping with a bowl of kiwis on my nightstand to “ enhance the emotional aspects that the kiwi can impart and intimately connect them with my being.”

But that’s me. Others might connect with that but there are better books out there. 2.5 stars

Are you kidding me? The author is the new darling food guru to the stars. As far as I can tell from my brief research, he doesn't claim to have any formal education in medicine, chemistry or nutrition. Instead, he has super powers of intuition and spirituality. Thus he has listed dozens of food and matched them with medical conditions for which you should be eating said foods. But here's the fun part: remember Kondo's "Joy of Tidying Up" in which she urges you to thank all of your possessions on Are you kidding me? The author is the new darling food guru to the stars. I have struggled with Hashimotos, Fibro, depression, PTSD, and other complications for years. Though I was intuitively led to many of these solutions on my own, there were quite a few other solutions that I had never though of or had forgotten to incorporate. These books have given me greater health and a lot less pain. William definitely cleared up my misunderstandings about certain foods and thyroid disorders. There is much healing to be found through this book and his other one. I wrote a I have struggled with Hashimotos, Fibro, depression, PTSD, and other complications for years. Though I was intuitively led to many of these solutions on my own, there were quite a few other solutions that I had never though of or had forgotten to incorporate. I found this to be a valuable and exciting book.

I always knew, of course, that eating (organic) fruits and vegetables improved one’s health. But it turns out that we can actually be healed of all the various illnesses and conditions we have merely by eating specific fruits and vegetables.

Anthony William channels Spirit which informs him, and now us, which fruits and vegetables are helpful against which conditions. At present I am alternating between drinking celery (stalk) juice against I found this to be a valuable and exciting book.

I always knew, of course, that eating (organic) fruits and vegetables improved one’s health. But it turns out that we can actually be healed of all the various illnesses and conditions we have merely by eating specific fruits and vegetables.

Anthony William channels Spirit which informs him, and now us, which fruits and vegetables are helpful against which conditions. At present I am alternating between drinking celery (stalk) juice against interstitial cystitis, kidney disease (in my case an infection of some sort) and colitis and cucumber juice against the kidney infection and MS. So far I have noticed that the interstitial cystitis and the kidney infection have improved.

Interstitial cystitis is not a well-known condition, but the author suggests many vegetables that are helpful against it, and I have begun by picking celery juice.

Vegetables/fruits are recommended even for such severe conditions as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis): also Alzheimer’s, ADHD and autism are included.

For many problems/symptoms we are advised to cut out dairy products, eggs, corn, wheat, canola oil and “natural flavours”.

The book provides comprehensive information about 18 fruits, 11 vegetables or groups of vegetables, 10 herbs/spices and 11 wild foods. Anthony has given fruits, vegetables, herbs & spices and wild foods the appellation “The Holy Four”.

For each item we are informed of the emotional support and spiritual lesson it provides.

As regards the simple potato, it has got a bad rap. “Potatoes are wrongly accused of contributing to obesity, diabetes, cancer, Candida overgrowth --- while in truth these miraculous tubers can reverse these illnesses.”

Potatoes are brain food that helps “keep you grounded and centred”. Conditions helped by potatoes include heart disease, colon cancer, colitis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, shingles, all autoimmune diseases and disorders and COPD.

We should eat organic potatoes and they should preferably be steamed. Potatoes can “absorb and help diminish the negative effects of wireless Internet signals, cell phone signals and emissions”, etc, etc. So you could keep one in a bowl somewhere in your home and discard it every five to seven days (don’t eat it) and replace it with a fresh one. (I’m going to do this.)

There is a section on cruciferous vegetables. These are cabbage, collard greens, broccoli, broccoli rabe (whatever that is), cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, kale, arugula and mustard greens.

These “ignite hidden cleansing and healing abilities in other foods when eaten in certain combinations”. They pull out radiation from the thyroid and help protect from various forms of cancer, including breast, brain and lung cancer.

They contain two types of sulphur, which “permeate lung tissue to help stimulate growth, regeneration and healing, and --- also restore and recover lung scar tissue”.

Brussels sprouts purify the liver, spleen and blood. I’ve recently been able to purchase organic Brussels sprouts for the first time and ate some tonight. Now I feel really good – perhaps they purified my system!

Cruciferous vegetables help against such conditions as hepatitis C, cirrhosis of the liver, brain cancer, osteoporosis, OCD, migraines, ADHD and many more,

At the end of each section on a particular fruit or vegetable or group of vegetables, we are given fascinating tips.

For example:

“When eaten with asparagus, broccoli heightens the cancer-fighting compounds in asparagus.”

“Cauliflower and seaweed together create a powerful detoxification tool to help expel chlorine, harmful fluoride and radiation from the sensitive endocrine glands.”

If you grow your own vegetables, these will develop in such a way as to provide maximum health benefits for your own specific needs. If you buy your vegetables, or fruit, from a store, let them lie on your table for a while and touch them occasionally so as to let them know it is you who are going to eat them so, again, they can maximize health benefits for yourself.

This is absolutely one of the most exciting and beneficial health books I have ever read, and I can’t wait to read Anthony William’s first book “Medical Medium: Secrets behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How to Finally Heal”.

P.S. The most important information I got from the book was about wild blueberries. These are quite different from ordinary blueberries in that “they’ve been graced by God and the universe --- they are a gift from above”. When you eat them, they figure out the best way to heal you and are the only food that does that. They can heal any condition, Freezing makes the berries even healthier. ...more

What a dissappointment! The recipes were mostly just cut up fruit or coconut milk and dates. Nothinf new, enticing or interesting. I think the author made up everything in the bookand there is no real medical basis for any of this. Of course, if one believes these things to be true, then help might ensue. I have never been cured of sadness or depression by eating oranges. Almost every ailment is helped by every fruit and or vegetable. I too could sit down and write spiritual life lesson helps. The medically contradictive remarks, mixed in with a little doubletalk, by someone with no medical or nutritional background can be misleading. The healing powers of fruits and vegetables are not hidden. Nothing life-changing here.

While the book is full of information, and does encourage the eating of fruits and vegetables, I'm not sure the book really says anything new. William adds a lot of information, but I'm not sure how totally accurate or useful it is. The bottom line is still the same: eat a lot of and a variety of fruits and vegetables.

I work one on one with massage clients and I've notice an increase in people with autoimmune and "mystery" illnesses that come to me for relief of pain. This is a fantastic book on nutrition and how different foods can address specific health related symptoms.

Mmkay. So I’ve had this book and several of the author’s other books on hold at the library. I keep seeing people rave about his books and protocols, especially his celery juice regimen.

Now let me start off by saying that this book does contains a lot of great information about the health benefits of particular fruits and vegetable. It also explains the different conditions that each one would be helpful in treating or improving. That was the part that I found interesting. After reading the Mmkay. So I’ve had this book and several of the author’s other books on hold at the library. I keep seeing people rave about his books and protocols, especially his celery juice regimen.

Now let me start off by saying that this book does contains a lot of great information about the health benefits of particular fruits and vegetable. It also explains the different conditions that each one would be helpful in treating or improving. That was the part that I found interesting. After reading the chapter in Avocado, where the author explains that they will frequently change hands during transport and will “absorb some of the handlers energy” he started losing my interest and respect.

Now I know that everyone has different beliefs and v Jews spiritually and I completely respect that. However, as a Christian, I don’t really think that my fruits and vegetables have spirits and/or contain positive or negative energy. Animals yes, but no for my cucumbers and apples. So I basically skipped over the parts where he is talking about the food in a spiritual way.

With that being said, I give the book 2-2.5 stars for the health information it contains regarding food. We live in a a society that has no concept of proper nutrition and wants to treat every problem with a drug. When in reality, a lot of those problems could be prevented or improved with a change in diet and natural remedies. So that is certainly an aspect of the book I agree with, that food can be your medicine.

I was curious about this book given that I have gotten so much helpful information over the years from the work of Edgar Cayce, the granddaddy of medical mediums. I found this to be a very useful contemporary take on food with a lot of tempting recipes. And it's about more than just the physical aspect of food. He goes deep.

I've already used some of his tips and hope to buy the book. (I like to buy used books to keep the planetary burden as low as possible.)

New age woo woo and nothing new

I am wildly surprised that advice to encourage a raw vegan diet has to be cloaked in a whole lot of new age language about spirits, angels and guides. There is a lot of value to following the recommendations to increase intake of the good fruits vegetables and herbs recommended in this book. However, without all the New Age talk and hyperbole, this book would probably be about 50 pages long.

Great resource for healing. This book discusses the healing power of fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, and wild foods. It also includes a recipe to accompany each food along with conditions and symptoms, emotional support and a spiritual lesson for using each food.

Please do not refer to this book for medical advice. Any confidence in the information within dissolved after reading "You won't find citations or mentions of scientific studies in this book, because everything I've written in these pages comes from Spirit." Recipes are simple but do sound good.

That said, if you need to eat more fruits & vegetables, this guy will get you happy about it. By way of example, a passage about sweet potatoes: "a sweet potato has properties that actually give you the sensation that the world around you has shut down. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fruits, vegetables, herbs, and wild foods - the Holy Four! In this highly readable book, The Medical Medium (Anthony Williams) gives step by step descriptions of each food, conditions and symptoms that may be relieved by that food, emotional, and spiritual explorations, as well as tips for each one.
Engrossing and very user friendly, I recommend this book.

The spiritual aspect to this book felt weird to me and I also found it strange that the author claims to have knowledge nobody else in the world has. It is a good reminder to eat more fruits and veggies, however.

My best friend loves this book and recommends it often. I got it years ago to review on NetGalley and it was archived before I read it. While I was visiting my friend last month, she brought out her copy of this book for me to read through for ideas about my daughter's UTI and my son's stomach aches.

It's hard to know what to say about it because I don't want to denigrate my awesome friend or those who follow this stuff, but it's really not in alignment with my own belief system. It was My best friend loves this book and recommends it often. I got it years ago to review on NetGalley and it was archived before I read it. While I was visiting my friend last month, she brought out her copy of this book for me to read through for ideas about my daughter's UTI and my son's stomach aches.

It's hard to know what to say about it because I don't want to denigrate my awesome friend or those who follow this stuff, but it's really not in alignment with my own belief system. It was interesting and kind of fun to read, but I couldn't take it totally seriously. You're supposed to just put a bowl of cranberries on your counter to benefit from them if you don't like the taste, because spiritually they'll still bless you if you touch them every day. There's a lot of stuff like that. The guy claims to be a spiritual healer who's been given this information sort of magically. It's not based on studies or even traditional practices. It's also not very practical for me, as even after I was convinced that everyone in our family needed the magic of figs I realized I'd go bankrupt giving each of us 9 figs a day forever. Have you priced figs? And you can't exactly forage them in Minnesota.

Also, the layout is really difficult. You have to basically go to the index and look up your health problem and then go to every page listed to see what to eat to solve your problem. Got UTIs? Expect to go through 15 pages of foods and then basically it's all generally the same because just about every fruit or vegetable seems to cure just about everything. Eat all these fruits and vegetables (in large quantities) because most of them solve most problems according to the book. Perhaps it would be better to just eat lots of fruits and vegetables every day and call it good.

All that said, my friend gave someone advice based on this book and told her to have her daughter stop eating her daily oranges and the medical problem that had doctors stumped went away pretty much immediately. So there is that. And she has been helped herself by following advice in it. Hence the 3 stars. Who am I to say whether it works or not? I did buy a bag of organic figs when I saw them on sale at Costco. ...more
