Witty, urbane, sassy, and downright delightful, here are the
first three original books of pure Garfield collected in one packed
volume. They tell the story of the feisty feline's birth, adoption, and
growth into general wonderfulness---just in case you've forgotten --and
remind us why we loved him like we do.

A longtime favorite of mine. I've been a Tubby Tabby fan all my life.

I think the first three books in the Garfield series are the best because they're the most classic. Jim Davis has created (in my perspective) a true masterpiece. Jon, my favorite character can be so dumb and not even know it. I feel bad for Odie. Garfield beats on him and Odie lets him. I guess Odie is just that stupid. In my opinion, Garfield is just misunderstood. He's a glutton because he loves food and Jon can't hear him when Garfield insults him. In other words Garfield lives in a house full of clueless people that love it when they hear that something is a "no-brainer". ...more

I just love the old Garfield comics.. Not the cartoons on TV, just the old 3 or 6 box comic strips.

Garfield has always been one of my favourite cartoon characters so allow me to be biased and say there's never a dull moment with this one! And you just can't have enough!

I grew up watching Garfield, but this is my first time reading more than an occasional strip. Also my last. It works better as a cartoon telling an extended story that can hide the fact Davis only uses 4 or 5 jokes over and over again. He also reuses panels so much it was distracting. I'm sure it's a necessity in a daily environment, but I've been reading a lot of comic strip collections lately and I've never actually noticed it before. My hero, Garfield! The introduction to the world's best orange-striped, lasagna-loving comic cat. As well as how Odie came to be with him, Pooky, and (ick) Nermal. Although Garfield was really quite mean in these first books, especially to Odie. I had to subtract a star for his real meanness, but it was a fun read overall. Garfield is that classic that will never go away or get boring. If my cat could talk this is how she would act.

My book is called Garfield Fat Cat 3-pack Vol 1 Written by Jim Davis. The genre of this book is Comedy. I chose to read this book because when i was in 4th grade a boy brought a Garfield book into class and let me borrow it and I automatically fell in love with these books. So when I saw it in the store I wanted to buy it and read it over the summer.

This book is all about Garfield and his adventures through his dieting and trying to make his dog's life (Odies life) miserable. This story mostly takes place in Garfield's house or outside near some dogs. The main characters are Garfield the cat, Odie the dog, and John Garfield and Odies owner. The biggest challenge for Garfield is him going through his diet and trying not to hallucinate. When Garfield trys changing something happens and he quits trying to change. The general plot of this story is Garfield dieting. The conflict is between Garfield and his weight and how he trys to lose weight. The story is mostly Garfield and how he eats everything he likes and he becomes the fattest cat in the world.

This story made me really laugh because of all the jokes Garfield adds. The plot wasn't too exiting or believable but it was really funny. The characters didn't seem real. There where a lot of funny bits. I think book book is great for everyone no matter what age and I think that most people should read it when they have a chance to. My rating for this book is 10/10 and I think everyone would like reading it ...more

I read a book called Garfield at Large, it is written by Jim Davis. This book is fiction, it is really fun to read. The genre of this book is adventure, Garfield always wanders around. My friend was reading Garfield all the time and I wanted to borrow his book and read it.

This volume contains the first three Garfield books:

Garfield at Large
Garfield Gains Weight
Garfield Bigger Than Life

It was fun, Garfield and his antics never get old, it's like seeing an old friend or slipping into your bed at the end of a very long day - warm and familiar. I read the first two books in the series previously, but I still enjoyed going through the comic strips again. The third book, contained in this volume which I hadn't seen before was just as delightful. There are the This volume contains the first three Garfield books:

Is it really necessary to review Garfield of all things? I was born in '92 and so I've grown up with Garfield my entire life. Wow. Is this book funny! When I first read this, I thought oh please. Comics? But when I read it, it was hilarious. The strips never get old, and everybody's favorite cat, Garfield, is the funniest comic I have ever read. If you are considering not reading this, reconsider.
