This was an engaging and fascinating examination of Mary Shelley's relationship to the text and characters she created. By placing both Frankenstein and Shelley as protagonist/narrator of the story, this play illuminated the symbiotic relationship between writer and character (in much the same way that the story of Frankenstein examines similar paradoxes including: master/slave, birth/death, creator/creature, etc).Nov 22, 2009
A book that came to me very late in life but one that I read over and over again. Not merely a monster story but a tale of humanity and compassion. It has the power to enlighten our vision of each person known or unknown, making one stop to embrace our differences and similarities with a profound sense of being. What is it that we all, as humans, want in life? Love, fulfillment, acceptance? Are we not all entitled to these no matter who we are? A fabulous book.Take your time and choose the perfect book.
