I would give anything for a revised, updated edition of this book, last published in 1995. Were that to happen, this would be an invaluable resource for anyone, novice to professional, who uses essential oils. I know some individuals find the interpretation of data within this book to be too laissez faire and others find it to be too stringent. I find it balanced and you are welcome to draw your own conclusions from the cited research. If you liked this, you'll love "Plant Aromatics" by Martin I would give anything for a revised, updated edition of this book, last published in 1995. This is not a book you read in one sitting, but rather a manual, a handbook, that you go back to when you need some information regarding essential oils (EOs). If you find yourself getting interested in EOs, before you go and embark on shopping spree of different oils with different scents and qualities, I encourage you deeply to acquire this guide. On the other hand, when used incorrectly they can be seriously toxic and harm you, your family, friends and/or your pets. Before purchasing an EO, take a minute and consult the guide regarding safety considerations with this specific EO. This is an impressive text on the safety of essential oils. There is so much information yet, for the most part, it's written in a way that you can understand. I did not read every single word but I did go through every page of text and read much of it.
If you are interested in using essential oils or giving advice on their use, you need to add this book to your library. I will use it frequently to reference safety information.

Digital Rights Management BS. The Google play reader is a POS viewing near next to 5 sentences at a time if you include the diagrams. You can navigate to different sections of the book, through contents. If you want to view the document as a PDF you have to download Adobe Digital Editions(ADE). Once ADE downloads the pdf file, you have to manually navigate to the page by actually looking at the contents and manually seeking to the page you need. The Digital Rights Manager(DRM) has decided that it is not important for the end user to be able to print, resize nor search the contents of the documents. About the only thing you can do in ADE is bookmark and select 1 of 3 possible viewing sizes. so its gonna take a long time for me to read it, such that i can actually tell you about the content. To the DRM manager ... Loosen the @#$%ing noose on the ADE or someone else will. Get real, this book has 795 pages, you can't expect me to "flick" through each page electronically, as it is a reference manual("guide") not a novel. Personally I'll try to ask google for my money back and buy the hardcover. There will be less time wasted by waiting for the hard copy book to arrive than messing the with useless electronic formats provided. Thanks.

An absolute must-have book for the practicing aromatherapist and aromatherapy student! Tisserand and Young have gathered safety data from numerous resources to provide this comprehensive look at the role of safety in all routes of absorption of essential oils. This would also be a helpful resource for poison control centers, emergency room physicians and nursing staff, and anyone in the medical field working with patients that are utilizing essential oils in their homecare plans.

If you use or even thinking about using Essential Oils this is a must have to know how to use them safely and what not to do with them. Now this is not a fun read or a how to use book. There is a lot if very in-depth science and chemistry . Got to go slow with this one, going back to it over and over.
