like all the books in the for dummies series this book is easy to use. It has alot of information, although it is aimed at the American audience and talks about medical insurance which does not apply to those readers like me from the UK and haven't benefit of the NHS. This book tells you about the different treatment options. It touches a bit about fertility, symptoms of endometriosis, pain management and other information such as emotional issues.
I like the fact that the book tells you about like all the books in the for dummies series this book is easy to use. I like the fact that the book tells you about the traditional and alternative treatments from medication to control your endometriosis to surgery to acupuncture and massage.
You can tell that the authors know what they are talking about. I feel that their introduction to what endometriosis is, is well written and easy to understand. It is written in layman's terms so that you do not need a medical degree to understand what the book is talking about ...more

Hmm, it was ok. It depends on what you want out of this kind of book really. I found that it contained the basics plus maybe a little more on endometriosis , it was info that you can very easily obtain from the Internet, from endo websites etc.I liked the friendly banter in this book, also the humour - appealed to my dry sense of humour, and I do believe that if a woman has just been diagnosed, and they do not know a thing about it, or they do not/can not research on the Internet, then this book Hmm, it was ok. It depends on what you want out of this kind of book really. If, like me, you want more detailed information, such as info on the endo diet, holistic stuff etc, then this is not the book for you. Although this book gives some good information and is factually accurate I find the treatment advice in this book partly rather appalling. Postponing your period with birth control pills just to suit your social calendar or taking pain killers in anticipation of pain are both harmful practices! Popping pills like that will not solve your problems, but rather make them worse in the long run!

Very good resource for those who have or think they have endometriosis, although more geared for people living in the USA. The one thing that puzzles me about this and other "Dummies" books, however, is the juxtaposition of quite advanced information (e.g. the biochemistry behind endometriosis) and basic stuff that ought to be common sense (e.g. what to do and say when you see a doctor).

This book is a great resource for anyone who thinks they might have endometriosis. It is the perfect balance between medical details and useful applications of it. I've had endo for a long time and this book clarified a lot of other symptoms I've had that may even be caused by endo (such as hypoglycemia, which could be cause by endo spreading to intestines).

I have endometriosis and I am shocked at how little people know about this disease, especially men. I need to have several copies at my house to hand out to the men in my life.

I ordered this book from the library for my partner and found that of all the books on Endometriosis that I have read - containing the same information over and over - this one had a few extras.

Really fantastic book, but a bit overwhelming when starting to study endometriosis.
