Published 6 years before Teach Yourself Origami, this book seems like a preliminary draft of the later book. The instructions aren't quite as clear, and some of the projects at the beginning of the book simply don't work, either because a step was left out or because the instructions are unclear. I am thinking of the Tall Cap, which ends up looking nothing like the original, and the Oblong Box which is an oblong but not a box, having no bottom. The "Boat" does look like the illustration, but not Published 6 years before Teach Yourself Origami, this book seems like a preliminary draft of the later book. I am thinking of the Tall Cap, which ends up looking nothing like the original, and the Oblong Box which is an oblong but not a box, having no bottom. The "Boat" does look like the illustration, but not like a boat--and is so unsightly that I was sure I'd done something wrong until I checked the illustration. Yes, it really is supposed to look like that.May 13, 2014
Not all of the items in the book come out with his direction, dunce cap is the first of those and there are a few others. Probably all told 3 out 24 items. That does take some joy out of the process as does the ones that do not look like what you are supposed to be making and finally there are a few that are outright ugly. So it's a hit or miss type of thing but it does introduce you to the terminology and pictograms.Aug 31, 2011
Easy Origami is exactly what you'd expect. It's a book of a reasonable range of easy projects, including stuff like animals and flowers, nothing abstract or modular. The diagrams are clear and there's a page explaining all the symbols and folds. It's not a challenge, at all, but it's clear enough for a beginner -- even a child, with help.Aug 31, 2019
A great book for beginners or anyone interested in learning Origami. The instructions are easy to follow and the book offers numerous creative designs. For more complex Origami, see my other ratings.Mar 07, 2019
I have few creative bones in my body & found this book really easy to follow. The projects are small, the instructions real simple & the diagrams are helpful. For absolute novices like me who are attempting Origami for the first time ever, this book is a good starting point.Mar 25, 2018
A nice book to consider for a gift. Instructions are easy to follow.Jul 28, 2018
Really enjoyed the origami, couldn't stop, I ended up making 24 out of 30 in one day, this doesn't get a higher rating as there were 4 that I couldn't figure out from the instructions.Nov 16, 2011
It is the easiest way to learn origami things and now I know how to do more than five things..... figer puppets, fast paper planes, the tumbling man, flying suacers (4 types), dragons, etc.Feb 10, 2015
