Super cute designs

This book is filled with some really cute nail designs! They do seem to have some range in their difficulties, but none of them appear too difficult. I also really like that they have designs for a lot of different seasons.

This book by Catherine Rogers, a DIY nail art youtuber, is a step-by-step explanation on how to create the most unique manicure designs (75 different ones). This artist shares her secrets with helpful tips on how to have healthier nails. Complete by step-by-step pictures along with explanations, this book allows you to nail your look everytime! This book is perfect for people who want to perfect nail design techniques. It requires certain nail tools that are not that easy to find and use, so I This book by Catherine Rogers, a DIY nail art youtuber, is a step-by-step explanation on how to create the most unique manicure designs (75 different ones). This artist shares her secrets with helpful tips on how to have healthier nails. Complete by step-by-step pictures along with explanations, this book allows you to nail your look everytime! This book is perfect for people who want to perfect nail design techniques. It requires certain nail tools that are not that easy to find and use, so I would require it to anyone willing to buy new nail equipment. There are nail designs such as black lace, for example, that only require two colours and a dotting tool in order to make the lace more realistic-looking, however, there are other ones such as the southern mama that requires 4 different colours including black, yellow, orange and hot pink, along with a certain sponge and brush to create it's ombre effect.
There are some reasons i did not like this book. There were certain nail designs I loved including Black Lace and Summer Citrus but other I absolutely hated. I think this book has a mixture of different style senses and I hate nails with too many colours and many of the nail designs requires different neon colours, therefore this book was not very useful to me, but if you like cool and eye-catching nails, you would probably love this book. I think the author should have created two books, ones with sophisticated and simple designs, and one with funky designs.
If this DIY book suits you, it will have you saying goodbye to nail salons and hello to fashion forward nails at home! It is honestly really helpful and perfect for perfectionists. I would recommend this to anyone since everyone has a different style and therefore i cannot recommend it to a certain age group, however, I think girls between the ages of 10-15 would enjoy this most. ...more

Nail art seems to have gotten very popular and I was glad to find this book with an assortment of "art" I can do on my own. I appreciate that the book includes step-by-step photos and a variety of styles and degree of difficulty.

People often mistake me for someone that can exquisitely paint my own nails because I am (admittedly) creative and artistic. However, this book has forever convinced me that any future attempts to ridickify my nails (not due to lack of practice!) will continue to look like a poodle wearing mittens has executed said polish job.

Disclaimer: nothing in this review was meant to be disparaging to the lovely poodle breed. They are quite majestic and intelligent, and one of my favorite breeds. Although I liked most designs featured here, I'm having issues with the tutorial side of the book. The pictures are way too small (and sometimes the directions are too simple for their own good) to effectively guide someone who is not already skilled in using a nail art brush. Some designs (ie Vintage Roses) fail completely due to that. The book covers the basics and then some (it sure has a lot of designs to choose from) and as a trainee nail tech I appreciate it, warts and all. This book is so cool I'm tempted to buy it (I borrowed it from the library). Tip though: Nearly all the designs require black nail polish, so have some on hand.

For kids

I was not impressed with most of the designs and many were repeat designs just in different colors. I'm really glad that I did not pay for this book.

Doesn't worth $10

For a 10 year old this book would be more satisfying, I was looking for a grown up designs and techniques.

I like it for girls! its perfect for them to work on their nail art. They can get compliments on their nails.

Full of cute nail designs that are broken down, step-by-step. Makes you think, "Why didn't I think of that?" Now if only I had the time to try all these!

the step by step instructions are great, very creative! I enjoyed seeing all the designs. I'm also excited to try out these designs.

Cute ideas, I especially like the bee. Instructions seem to be easy to follow, but a very fiddly pass time that I can't imagine partaking in.
