Jul 04, 2017I bought this book to help me with my Character Design class. I needed help developing cartoon/animation faces. My experience is with more realistic drawing. Like all the books I've gotten by Chris Hart, this is a very good, helpful book. I like how Hart covers every aspect of drawing faces and gives plenty of examples of different facial types based on the type of character. I would recommend this book to students of animation, illustration and cartooning.
Sep 04, 2017This book is fun! I drew all the characters. Don't wait for the Drawing Exercises chapter. This whole book is drawing exercises!
Apr 24, 2016The reviews weren't wrong, this looks good. It's just about faces, but that's a pretty important part of drawing cartoons. And I like the faces more than the ones in the Dummies' guide. Quite a few insightful verbal tips as well.
Aug 31, 2016also by Christopher Hart "Cartooning: The Ultimate Character Design Book". See both as reference to cartooning
Sep 13, 2017The book focuses mostly on youthful, clean-shaven faces, but is easy to follow, if you can stomach the groan-inducing wit. The author has a strange emphasis on placing ears so low they are almost on the neck (to make the character look "funny"), but then in the hair section the ears are placed more naturally.
