From Tyler Henry, clairvoyant and star of E!’s hit
reality series Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, comes
Between Two Worlds, a captivating memoir about his journey as a
medium thus far.

“Dying doesn’t mean having to
say goodbye.”

Tyler Henry discovered his gift for
communicating with the departed when he was just ten years old. After
experiencing a sudden, accurate premonition of his grandmother’s
death—what Tyler would later describe as his first experience of
“knowingness”—life would never be the same. Now in his
twenties, Tyler is a renowned, practicing medium, star of the smash hit
E! reality show, Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, and go-to
clairvoyant of celebrities, VIP’s, and those simply looking for
closure and healing. He has worked with some of Hollywood’s
biggest names including Khloe Kardashian, Amber Rose, Margaret Cho,
Jaime Pressly, and Monica Potter.

Despite struggling to accept
his rare talent, Tyler grew to embrace it, and finally found the courage
to share it with—and ultimately change—the world. For the
first time, Tyler pulls back the curtain on living life as a medium in
his first memoir, in which he fearlessly opens up about discovering his
gift as an adolescent, what it’s truly like to communicate with
those who have passed, the power of symbolism in his readings, and the
lessons we can learn from our departed loved ones. With unparalleled
honesty, Tyler discusses how his complex and fascinating gift has
changed his perception of the afterlife, and more importantly, how
readings can impact our relationships with our closest friends and
family once they’re gone.

I used to watch the TV show Ghost Whisperer with my mom when I was younger, so I've always kind of believed in ghosts and the afterlife. But I had never before read a nonfiction book on clairvoyance and what happens after death. This was refreshing, surprising and insightful. I also liked what he said about the idea of soul mates and how there are multiple people we can or are meant to connect with. It's a relief not to always wonder, ''Is he THE ONE?'' Well, ladies and gents, apparently there are MANY ones and they are all meant to teach us something. Thank God. If there were only one single person in the entire world for us, boy would there be pressure to find that person. You just have to enjoy the present and the people in your life. Like he says, it's pointless to worry about the future. Let's just let our guides do that for us! Kidding, love you my invisible (but hopefully present) guides. ...more

A life well lived is not defined by death.

I've listened & read many books on the subject of life after death and communicating with the other side and I must say this one is one of my favorites. His message and stories truly resonate within.

I was very impressed with the narration that Tyler performed during the reading of the book. It felt more like you were sitting with him having a conversation versus listening to a produced version of the book.

He gives a very refreshing view on the afterlife and many components that we all wonder about... a few of my favorites being reincarnation and your pets being able to communicate with you from the other side.

This is absolutely I would recommend to those friends who have an open mind about the afterlife.

I am one of those people who has a completely open mind when it comes to the afterlife, and I do watch this author, Tyler Henry, as often as I can on his program. He not only comes across as a genuinely loving and caring person on the screen, that is exactly how he is in real life.

This young man wrote an extremely interesting book highlighting his early life when his powers began to manifest themselves, through a nearly fatal brain issue of his own while a teenager, and on through the present I am one of those people who has a completely open mind when it comes to the afterlife, and I do watch this author, Tyler Henry, as often as I can on his program. This young man wrote an extremely interesting book highlighting his early life when his powers began to manifest themselves, through a nearly fatal brain issue of his own while a teenager, and on through the present day where he is one of the most sought after, if not THE most sought after, genuine mediums.

The book not only gives specific details on some of his readings that shocked even him, it also has a portion in the back where he answers the most frequent questions that he gets, which happens to include one of my own regarding pets on the other side.

I highly recommend this book to the believers and the skeptics alike. I guarantee this young man is the real deal. ...more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I ran across this show on TV one evening and got interested in it. Then I won a copy of the book on Goodreads this month. It's been a delight to read about Tyler's discovery of his gift at age 10 just before his Grandmother passed. And how he then went on to learn more about what it was, how he could understand it better and hone it to receive more clearly, etc. When his confidence grew as he got older and began to trust his guides, he began reading people and getting validation which helped let I ran across this show on TV one evening and got interested in it. It's a wonderful book for anyone wanting to know more about mediums or Tyler in particular and how he got his start. He was actually going to go to school to be a hospice nurse, but he did a reading for a man who turned out to be the dean of the school he was about to sign up at, and when he ran into him again at the school, the dean told him he'd really be wasting his time as a nurse when he could be helping so many more people heal by doing readings instead. So he gave it some thought and decided the dean was right, and he went on to pursue his real passion and that is how he eventually ended up as The Hollywood Medium by pure chance. He learned to trust his instincts every day, and his guides help too. He says he trusts his gut and it has served him well. He also has very good people around him and a good family.

I am what can be described as an Empath, Indigo Adult, and clairvoyant. This isn’t the medium for me (no pun intended) to dive into what this entails (Google the terms, if interested); but I will say that it is both an exhausting but amazing way to live being that it causes one to view life on another level of existence. This isn’t the medium for me (no pun intended) to dive into what this entails (Google the terms, if interested); but I will say that it is both an exhausting but amazing way to live being that it causes one to view life on another level of existence. In my opinion, everyone has these skills to some degree but some tap into it more so than others. Tyler Henry, a young man in his early 20s, is more than a self-described Macaulay Culkin look alike with a hit E!- Entertainment television reality show… he is the real deal: a true, intuitive clairvoyant. Henry provides insight into his skills and profession with, “Between Two Worlds: Lessons from the Other Side”.

As intriguing as Tyler Henry is, and perhaps you have an urge to know the gossipy, personal insight into his life… you won’t find that here. “Between Two Worlds” is not a chronological biography or a tabloid look into a popular figure. Rather, Henry focuses his memoir on his profession: how he discovered his line of work, what his work entails, and the actual lessons and experiences therein. Henry immediately dives into the expose with the first few pages and thus a background or personal account is absent. Yet, there is nothing clinical about “Between Two Wolds” and the writing offers a personal connection to Henry and reveals who he is (and trust me- he is a remarkable kid).

“Between Two Worlds” is a very quick (1-day read) written on a relatively casual level. That being said, this doesn’t mean that the text is poorly written like so many Hollywood memoirs but it instead moves quickly because it is engaging, interesting, and a riveting topic/angle. There are times when the reader is left with unanswered questions but this is only because Henry is so interesting and profound for someone so young that readers find themselves wanting to be friends with him.

It is noticeable from a writing standpoint, that a ghostwriter undoubtedly was used because there is no way a 20 year old speaks in this manner or can describe situations/philosophy in such a way. This does cause some inconsistencies in the text but this isn’t a bad thing and “Between Two Worlds” is still quite worthy.

One of the highlights of “Between Two Worlds” is that despite Henry’s Hollywood celebrity clientele, his memoir doesn’t even speak of this, name drop, or have an egotistical attitude. This is a complete opposite from the typical memoir of popular figures showing Henry’s maturity and heightening the depth of the text.

Expanding on this depth, “Between Two Worlds” is a truly moving reading experience. Even aside from my own Empath and clairvoyant lifestyle; Henry’s writing has an impact and is thought-provoking for both young and adult readers, truly reaching audiences on a very personal level. This is a type of book one “has” to read for emotional fulfillment.

Henry does well with not stressing any specific religions, doctrines, or beliefs and merely describes his experience with his clairvoyance. “Between Two Worlds” is an unbiased read.

The final chapter of “Between Two Worlds” features a Q& A with Henry addressing commonly asked questions regarding his professional life and outlooks. Even this is an insightful and intriguing section, resulting in a strong conclusion to “Between Two Worlds”.

“Between Two Worlds” is a captivating and spiritual read. Henry’s writing chops may not be on a masterpiece-level but the message and intent is on another plane. “Between Two Worlds” is recommended for Tyler Henry fans, readers interested in clairvoyance, young adults interested in introspection, and those seeking some spiritual insight.

I found this young man's TV show just a couple of months ago while skimming channels. I have long been interested in, and a fan of, this subject matter. His manner seems genuine, the way he works seems authentic from what I can tell on TV, and in reading this book, I see that he speaks of things that I have learned in my 71 years on this planet to be quite valid. His manner is calm, he seeks to serve his clients in the most loving and helpful manner he can, and I believe his gifts are genuine. The book is a pleasure to read. He validates things I have also learned in my search for love and truth. I am totally taken with him and believe his intentions are good and gifts are genuine. What a sense of calm and peace I get just from the small amount of work I have seen of his on the TV show he is on. I am happy to have found someone like him in my life's journey. ...more

"A life well lived is not harmed by death." As a huge fan of Tyler's show on E. I was super excited to see he had written a book. I found his book to be interesting and insightful. And I even found quotes I liked. Even though I may not agree with everything I enjoyed reading his opinions and thoughts. I really like Tyler as a person and he seems like such a caring individual.

I am an avid reader of memoirs, self-help, and spiritually driven books. A friend of mine knew this and sent me a surprise in the mail...an autographed copy of Between Two Worlds! (I have to disclose that I am a fan of Henry's reality show Hollywood Medium on E!) I cracked open this book with enthusiasm and excitement and I wasn't disappointed. It's part memoir and part self -help, (and we all know I can use all the self-help a book can throw at me).

The book starts with a very quick recap of I am an avid reader of memoirs, self-help, and spiritually driven books. I cracked open this book with enthusiasm and excitement and I wasn't disappointed. It's part memoir and part self -help, (and we all know I can use all the self-help a book can throw at me).

The book starts with a very quick recap of Henry's early childhood and his first "experience", the premonition of the death of his beloved grandmother. The book takes a chronological journey from there, recounting how he honed his abilities as a medium and how he got his big break at such an early age. Midway through, Henry talks about how he focuses and the methods he uses to keep his gift sharp. He also talks about how he struggled to gain acceptance from his conservative father about his abilities, which is also a wonderful story.

I really enjoyed this book. Henry's writing comes across just as he does on his show: calm and steady. I personally read it with light-heartedness and in the interest of learning something new. While I read a ton of paranormal subject matter, it's usually in a fictional setting. I'm not here to debate whether mediums are real or hokum, I'm reviewing the book as a fan of the show and as someone who has experienced a few things that I can't explain. I found that reading something Paranormal in the context of real life situations is quite fascinating and this book awoke me to a new genre of reading. It also inspired further research for my own Urban Fantasy novel in progress! I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys paranormal accountings, memoirs, uplifting reads, or fans of Henry's in general. I'm giving it a 5 out of 5 Stars. The content was clear and easy to follow. There is no graphic or explicit material which means it's safe for my YA readers and fans of clean reads. Most importantly, it left me optimistic and happy, something that doesn't happen often. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did! ...more

I really liked this book since it seemed very authentic. It was very interesting reading about Tyler Henry's life growing up up and how he decided to embace his gifts and become a medium in order to help others. It gave me a good understanding of how information comes through to a medium, what to expect duing a good reading and how to respond during a reading.

This book was a little different to what I expected. I was expecting stories of Tyler's experiences with the other side & although there was some of this there, it was mostly a self help book for those trying to understand the loss of loved ones & what the other side is really about. Even though this wasn't what I bargained for, I still enjoyed the read immensely.

I read this in a day! I love Tyler and his show. I thought this was a good supplemental read as a Tyler Henry fan. Loved especially his thoughts on religion vs. spirituality. His soul is far older than his physical body! A reassuring read, also, for those who fear death, or are grieving the loss of loved ones.

Everyone has different beliefs, and whether or not the concept of a medium has any place in those beliefs, is something that is very individual. I personally believe that God gifts each person with natural talents, some of which are very prevalent.

Regardless of whether you believe in mediums or not, there are some great “takeaways” from this book that apply to living our life in the here and now. Also, if you have any interest in intuition, I would encourage you to read it. I was impacted by these topics:

• Getting a strong feeling when you first meet someone. He described an experience where he got a feeling that the person he just met would be someone significant and that he felt he was meant to play a role in this person’s life.
• How we should try to be more childlike if we want to develop our intuition – being open, receptive, nonjudgmental, removing bias, and allowing our imagination to soar.
• Try and remove the ego when interacting with others.
• He reaffirmed my belief that when moments of synchronicity occur, it is a message from God/your higher power/guides that you are on the right path.
• He answered questions on multiple marriages and soulmates and other related topics – all very interesting.

I was amazed by Tyler’s wisdom at such a young age. There were lots of goose bump moments in this book for me. There were three “biggies” that came right at the end…boom, boom, boom. I’ll tag them as quotes rather than include them in this review.

As a fan of the show "Hollywood Medium", it was really interesting to learn about Tayler's gift of mediumship on a different level.
