Do you have a child with ADHD or other related issues? Or do you

preservatives, and even some natural foods like fruit can have a
profound and detrimental impact on your child's behavior, learning, and
overall health? Sheri Davis gives you an insider, behind the scenes look
at what the Feingold Diet entails and how to get started. She describes
some of the abuse going on in food manufacturing and describes the
various labeling loopholes. She teaches you how to avoid the most
detrimental chemicals in food. She shares the specific ingredients to
avoid, where to find these foods, and provides recipes to help you get
started. She also describes the difference between stage one and stage
two of the Feingold Diet, what salicylates are and how they can affect
your child. She does all this in an easy to read writing style, sharing
stories from her own family’s experiences with the diet. Sheri Davis
knows firsthand the struggles of having a child with symptoms of ADHD or
other learning disabilities. She offers hope and encouragement to those
who are overwhelmed or looking for alternatives to medication. The
Feingold Diet was an answer to prayer for Sheri's family, and she hopes
it will be for yours as well.

I’m giving a big, fat nope to this one. I read it only because a patient leant it to me and wanted to know what I thought. Otherwise, I’d never keep reading a book that says husbands and wives are partners except when it comes to making important or spiritual decisions - then the husbands should rule. Bull. Shit. Also, she feels diet should be in the hands of the mom, because that’s her “job.”

But, setting that load of tripe aside, the book was just jam-packed with bad science. The referencing I’m giving a big, fat nope to this one. But, setting that load of tripe aside, the book was just jam-packed with bad science. The referencing of Jenny McCarthy, anti-vaxxer nut job, was only one clue. I don’t even have the time or patience to go into why this book is scientifically garbage. But if you look at the recipes she offers, there’s nothing about them that’s remotely healthy. Instead of focusing on avoid “high salicylate” foods like coffee, tea, almonds, tomatoes, zucchini, and a host of fruits (which is just ridiculous - those things are all beneficial), how about avoiding so much sugar and white flour, Sheri? That would actually do your kids some good.

Look, you won’t get an argument from me that it’s probably a good idea to avoid food additives. I stay away from processed foods myself. But if you are eating vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, and the like, you don’t even need to think about all the silliness in this book. ...more

Great read!

I'm just starting the Feingold diet for my kids. This book covers the overall concept of the diet. I liked the tips and suggestions for getting started and not giving up when it gets hard. Great resources,as,well. I plan to share this book with friends and family!! The author knows exactly what dyes and preservatives do to our kids. It is so sad that major food companies try to sell and market this junk knowing how detrimental it is to us.

Good place to start

This was an easy read and where I started to begin learning about the Feingold diet. I especially appreciated the chapter on whether to purchase the Feingold membership which is foremost on my mind right now.

It has some good tips. Some of this worked for my own daughter. But I feel like I'm listening to Henny Penny telling me the sky is falling.
